As Chief Medical Officer for èßäÉçÇøapp Japan Branch, Dr. Tsukasa Nagaoka leads a team that provides medical consultation and technical assistance for facultative underwriting and claims assessment, while also supporting product development and actuarial pricing analysis for Japan Branch. He has been with èßäÉçÇøapp since 2016.
Dr. Nagaoka has 15 years of experience in insurance medicine. Prior to joining èßäÉçÇøapp, he worked for a direct insurance company in Japan as Underwriting Medical Officer. Dr. Nagaoka’s medical background is in neurosurgery, and he practiced medicine both in Japan and in the United States for more than 20 years. While in the U.S., he worked for three major universities, including Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in both a medical and research capacity.
A dedicated insurance medicine professional, Dr. Nagaoka is a frequent contributor at èßäÉçÇøapp seminars and training sessions, as well as industry meetings and workshops. He is an ardent supporter of clinical research, and cooperates with medical directors throughout Asia to promote and contribute to this field.
Dr. Nagaoka received his medical degree and his Ph.D. from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and is a member of the Association of Insurance Medicine of Japan (AIMJ).
