As VP, Chief Behavioural Scientist for 猫咪社区app Global Research & Development, Dr Peter Hovard studies the psychology of how people make health and wealth decisions. Peter’s team help 猫咪社区app and its clients to develop products, communications, and processes based on how people really think and behave by conducting behavioral research and using it to create solutions across the insurance journey; For example helping to create insurance applications that encourage honesty, products that consumers understand and value, and claims processes that improve rapport and return to-work outcomes. Most recently his research focusses on understanding, and designing for, retirees' financial mindsets and behaviors.
Prior to joining 猫咪社区app in 2020, Peter was the behavioural science lead for Royal Sun Alliance (RSA), a FTSE 100 general insurer in the UK Peter established the use of behavioral science to improve outcomes for insurance customers such as reducing young drivers’ crash risk using telematics solutions.
Peter received both a Bachelor of Science in psychology with American studies, and a PhD in the psychobiology of appetite and eating behaviour from the University of Sussex (UK). Peter’s research is published widely in academic journals and insurance and behavioural science industry press.
